The Google Redirect Infection.

VIRUS!

Seems there’s a new bad guy in town….spyware town that is. The newest monster out there taking over computers is what is known as the Google re-direct infection. This guy got his name from people who use the popular Google search engine on the Internet…but if you get this infection, any search engine can be affected.

The signs are subtle at first, but then as you try to use the search box of your search engine the link will redirect you to another unknown and faulty site. Another sign of this infection is that you can’t access the Windows Update page found on the Internet Explorer. If this is happening to you, there’s no avoiding a service call from your trusted PC technician. Some anti-viruses do not even pick it up and it embeds itself deep in the computer. Removal of this virus is tricky and should be done by a trained technician. If you have these symptoms on your PC, bring it to ISD ASAP for some TLC and a tune up.
